SEASONS: A Year-Long Project by Songwriter Emily Logan

SEASONS is a multi-disciplinary project from me, Emily Logan (Urban Wildlife & Ten Million Lights), a Seattle-based musician / multi-instrumentalist / songwriter. In its essence, this project is an effort to exist in the world as an artist more fully, with more vulnerability, truth, and connection to the human experience.

For the entirety of my musical career, I have avoided discussing the themes and content of my music, despite music being my primary source of emotional processing.

In my 39th year of life, there is still a lot to process, and music still fills this fundamental role. But as I become increasingly inspired by my friends and heroes, I have realized that the story behind the songs provides another opportunity for others to relate and deepen their connection to the music and to the human experience. My hope is that by creating works that strike a specific seasonal and emotional theme, and providing an artist’s statement about each, that listeners and readers will find some relating, and perhaps it will even deepen their own processing.

Fear is the enemy of true artistic expression, and I have committed to approaching this project with as much openness as possible. Thanks so much for being a part of it.

I am proud to be an inaugural artist with Doe Records, a label platform for musicians in collaboration with local artists and makers. Doe is a community that advocates creative development, and operates with a commitment to help musicians navigate the nuances of the music industry, embracing bands with non-binary or female-identifying members.
